2. Ujjain Simhastha Kumbh Mela:

  • Significance: The Simhastha Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years, is one of the four major Kumbh Melas, which are significant Hindu festivals. Ujjain is one of the four locations where this grand festival is celebrated.
  • Events: The festival features grand processions, rituals, and spiritual activities. Pilgrims come from all over India to take a holy dip in the Shipra River, perform rituals, and seek spiritual blessings.

  • Key Jyotirlingas in Madhya Pradesh:
    • Omkareshwar: Located on Mandhata Island in the Narmada River, it is shaped like the sacred Om symbol.
    • Mahakaleshwar: Situated in Ujjain, this Jyotirlinga is renowned for its Bhasm Aarti (ritual with sacred ash), which is a unique and significant religious practice.

  4. After freshening up, leave for local sightseeing.
