1. Pondicherry

Pondicherry, now known as Puducherry, is a Union Territory located on the southeastern coast of India. It was a French colony until 1954, and its colonial past is reflected in its architecture, cuisine, and overall ambiance.

  • French Quarter: Explore the charming French colonial buildings, boulevards, and cafes in the French Quarter, also known as White Town. Notable streets include Rue Saint-Louis and Rue Suffren.
  • Promenade Beach: A scenic stretch along the Bay of Bengal, perfect for a leisurely stroll and enjoying the ocean breeze.

Day 1 Chennai – Puducherry

Arrive at designated place. Proceed to Puducherry by coach. Stroll around the Promenade Beachfront in the evening.

Day 2 Puducherry

Explore the city of Puducherry, starting with a visit to Auroville, an international community dedicated to peace and sustainable living. Next, visit the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual center founded by Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. Tour the Sri Aurobindo Handmade Paper Factory to see traditional paper-making techniques. Continue to Ayee Mandapam, also known as Bharathi Park, a serene spot in the city. Visit Vinayagar Temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, and the French War Memorial, which commemorates the soldiers who died in World War I. Explore the Eglise de Sacre Coeur de Jesus, a Catholic church renowned for its Gothic architecture and beautiful stained glass windows. Day 3 Puducherry – Chidambaram – Pichavaram – Puducherry

In the morning, proceed to Chidambaram to visit the Nataraja Temple, dedicated to Lord Nataraja, a form of Lord Shiva as the Lord of Dance. Following your temple visit, explore the Pichavaram Mangrove Forest by boat. This forest is the second largest mangrove forest in the world and is known for its health and ecological significance. Day 4 Puducherry – Mahabalipuram – Kanchipuram
