Religious Significance

  • Hinduism: In Hinduism, Muktinath is considered a sacred place dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is one of the 108 Divya Desams (holy shrines) dedicated to Vishnu. The temple is believed to be a place of liberation (mukti) and is visited by pilgrims seeking spiritual salvation.
  • Buddhism: For Buddhists, Muktinath is revered as a sacred site associated with the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. It is considered a place where Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), an important figure in Tibetan Buddhism, meditated.

Temple and Surroundings

  • Muktinath Temple: The main temple complex houses a statue of Lord Vishnu and is an important site for worship. Pilgrims come here to perform rituals and seek blessings.
  • 108 Water Springs: The site is famous for its 108 water springs or “Muktidhara,” which are believed to purify the soul. Pilgrims often bathe in these springs as part of their rituals.
  • Eternal Flame: There is also a natural flame (Jwala Mai Temple) fed by a natural gas seepage, which burns continuously and is considered sacred.

Day 1

Kathmandu

Arrive at Kathmandu airport, report to the coach and proceed to hotel

Day 2

Kathmandu – Manakamana – Chitwan

Proceed to Chitwan by Coach. Enroute visit Manakamana Temple by rope way. Arrive in Chitwan. Evening free time for relaxation. Enjoy Tharu Cultural dance show in the evening.

Day 3

Chitwan – Lumbini

Enjoy Elephant Bathing (Subject to Operation). Later Proceed to Lumbini. Arrive at Lumbini - one of the most important religious place for Buddhist pilgrims where Lord Gautam Buddha was born. Evening stay at Lumbini.

Day 4

Lumbini – Pokhara

Visit Lumbini pilgrimage sites, Lumbini Garden, birth place of Gautam Buddha, Mayadevi Temple, Ashoka Pillar, eternal peace lamp and beautiful landscape. Proceed to Pokhara

Day 5

Pokhara – Muktinath Temple – Jomsom

Fly to Jomsom (Subject to weather permits). Upon arrival after adventurous flight. Drive to Muktinath Temple (One of the 51 Shakti Peethas) by Jeep. Walk (Horses are also available) & Take a Holi bath in 108 water spouts, Kundas and get darshan to Lord Narayan. Get back to the Jomsom .

Day 6

Jomsom – Pokhara

Today take a flight to Pokhara. (Subject to weather permits). On arrival enjoy a pleasant boat ride in Phewa lake - reflecting the panoramic views of Mt. Fishtail on its backdrop and visit Barahi Temple located on an island in Phewa lake & Visit Devi's Fall. Visit Bindyabasini Temple.

Day 7

Pokhara – Kathmandu
We will start our day by flying to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, our first visit will be to Budhanilkantha, famous for its "Sleeping Vishnu" statue. This remarkable sculpture dates back to ancient times and is a significant pilgrimage site for Hindus. Next, we will proceed to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in the world, built in the 5th century A.D. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a hub of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal and offers a serene atmosphere for contemplation and prayer. In the evening, we will experience the spiritual ambiance of the Aarti ceremony at Pashupatinath Temple. Located on the banks of the Bagmati River, Pashupatinath is Nepal's most sacred Hindu temple complex. The Aarti ceremony involves chanting, ringing of bells, and offering of lamps to the deities, creating a mesmerizing and reverent atmosphere. This day will offer a blend of cultural exploration and spiritual experiences, allowing us to immerse ourselves in the rich heritage of Kathmandu Valley. Day 8

Kathmandu
In the morning, guests can opt for a Mountain Flight at their own expense. This exhilarating experience offers breathtaking views of the Himalayas. Following this, we will visit some of Kathmandu's revered monuments. Our first stop will be the magnificent Swayambhunath Stupa, known as one of the most glorious stupas in the world. En route, we will enjoy panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley. Next, we will explore Patan Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its historical and cultural significance. Here, we will visit the Patan Kumari Mata Temple, Hiranyan Mahabir Golden Temple, and Krishna Temple, each offering unique insights into Nepalese architecture and spirituality. In the evening, guests will have free time for shopping, allowing them to explore local crafts and souvenirs at their leisure. The following day, our journey continues with a visit to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include viewing the famous 55 Peacock Window Mahal from outside, a stunning example of Nepalese art and architecture. Later in the day, we will gather for a delightful get-together with fellow travelers, sharing experiences and creating lasting memories of our time in Nepal.

Departure From Kathmandu
