South India is renowned for its magnificent temples, which are not only centers of worship but also architectural marvels reflecting centuries of artistic and cultural heritage. Here are some key features and examples of South Indian temples:

Architecture: South Indian temples are typically characterized by their towering gopurams (ornate gateway towers) adorned with intricate sculptures of gods, goddesses, mythical creatures, and scenes from Hindu epics. These temples often have large pillared halls, known as mandapas, where religious ceremonies and cultural performances take place. The main sanctum sanctorum houses the principal deity of the temple.

Day 1

Reniguntha - Tirupati

Arrive at Renigunta, report to the coach proceed to hotel.

Day 2

Tirupati - Tirumala - Tirupati

Visit Lord Venkateshwara's temple - the richest and most visited place of worship in the world. Later Proceed to visit Padmavati Temple & ISKCON temple.

Notes: For women the preferred dress code is Saree or half-Saree with blouse or Churidar with Pyjama and upper cloth and For men the dress code is dhoti or Pyjamas with upper cloth.

Day 3

Tirupati - Vellore - Kanchipuram

Proceed to Kanchipuram. En-route visit Vellore – Sripuram Vellore Golden temple. In the evening visit Shiv Kanchi temple, Vishnu Kanchi temple and Kanchi Kamakshi Temple.

Day 4

Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

Proceed to Pondicherry. En-route visit Shore temple - classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Arjuna Penance and Five Rathas at Mahabalipuram. On arrival Visit Shri Aurobindo Ashram, enjoy Pondicherry beach in the evening.

Day 5

Pondicherry – Pichavaram - Chidambaram – Thanjavur

Visit Matru Mandir. En-route visit Later explore Pichavaram mangrove forest by boat ride. It is the second largest forest and also considered among the healthiest mangrove occurrence in the world. Later also visit Chidambaram temple – known as Thillai Natraja Temple. Proceed to Thanjavur and overnight stay at Thanjavur.

Day 6

Thanjavur - Trichy - Thanjavur

Proceed to Trichy. Visit the Brihadeeshwara temple - a World Heritage site and Vyonkoji Palace museum. Also visit Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple - largest temple in India and one of the largest religious complexes in the world.

Day 7

Thanjavur - Rameshwaram

Proceed to Rameshwaram - the place from where Lord Rama, built a bridge across the sea to rescue his consort Sita, from her abductor, Ravana. Evening arrive at Rameshwaram.

Notes: Please carry a separate handbagcontaining pair of clothes along with you for overnight stay at Rameshwaram.

Day 8

Rameshwaram - Madurai

Early morning take Sphatik linga Darshan at the famous Ramanathan temple - a Master piece in Dravidian architecture. Then we visit APJ Abdul Kalam Museum - Small museum in the childhood home of India’s one-time president Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam. Later proceed to visit Ramanathan temple.Later proceed to Madurai. Visit Vibhishan Temple / Dhanuskodi. Later proceed to Madurai.

Day 9

Madurai - Meenakshi Temple

Visit Meenakshi temple – Madurai's claim to fame for its meticulous colorful carvings on the Gopurams (towers), in the vivid Dravidian image of Gods, Goddess, animal and mythical figures. Free time for shopping in the evening.

Departure from Madurai

Board train/flight for your hometown. Tour Concludes.
